Greg and I met at a country line-dancing party! My mom decided to throw this fun “barn party” one year and scouted our town for the coolest barn around, and it happened to be on the property Greg lived on. We naturally connected at the party and he stole my cowboy hat (his way of flirting!), and pulled a sneaky move to get my phone number. The rest is history, and so now I get to live on the property with the beautiful barn, and we throw the party annually!
Living on a ranch-type property, we naturally love being outside and in nature. We wanted to make sure our wedding communicated our laid-back, party style, with a flair of wine-country vibes. I work in the wine industry, so the bar was also a big emphasis for us! We got married at the community lake in the neighborhood I grew up in, which offered that family feel, and a non-traditional venue with a lot of flexibility and options. Most of the decor was rented from Simple Country Weddings, which offered perfect pieces for our earthy style and venue. We offered gourmet cheeses and accompaniments for our appetizers, and wood-fired pizza and salad for dinner. Signature drinks, lots of wine and beer and a variety of liquor was offered at the wine-barrel bar. The best part of our wedding was the dancing and, of course, the sparkler exit. We could not have pulled off our wedding without the help of our wedding planner, who helped us every step of the way with our unique venue.
